Beginner friendly crochet jumper

Beginner friendly crochet jumper

I've always wanted to find a project for my first crochet clothes, but I could never find a beginner friendly pattern, until I came across this pattern done by @Belina Bellwood, and i had the perfect color combination in mind for this project. Today I will be sharing the journey of creating this jumper from yarn selection to the finishing product.

For this jumper, I used a combination of Ellie.k's soft and springy 4-ply cotton yarns in a pastel gradient. Here's what went into it:

  • Mohair yarn: Soft almond and pastel purple for that floaty texture
  • Cotton + acrylic blend in 6 colors
    • white
    • almond
    • Pastel purple
    • Lilac
    • Dark purple

I loved this pattern because you can play around with various different color shades, you can do gradient like what I have done, or choose completely different color. This pattern is also tolerating of small mistakes, even if you make mistakes along the way, once the project is finished, you won't see any.

Few tips for making this jumper from my experience:

  • measure your shoulder length correctly, this determine how big or small the jumper is.
  • Go bold with color selections.
  • weave in the ends while you are crocheting.

This jumper is now my favorite piece among all the things I have crocheted, it goes along with many other clothes, perfect for layering. Whether you are a beginner or experienced crocheter, I highly recommend this pattern, its incredibly rewarding!
